THESE SPECIES
MUST BE STOPPED
Invasive and noxious weeds threaten Ontario’s plants and animals.
They can be harmful to crops, livestock, humans and our natural
environment. Under Ontario’s
Weed Control Act
, farmers and
landowners have a legal obligation to manage noxious weed species
on their property.
Here are three things we need to know about controlling these
threatening plant species:
3
All farmers and landowners have a responsibility to control
noxious weeds on their property
3
We need access to the best herbicides and other methods
to control these harmful weeds
3
It’s equally important for governments to control these weeds
on public lands to prevent the spread and reduce harm
We are all responsible to put the needs of farm workers, animals,
our environment and all Ontarians ahead of noxious weeds.
