Ontario dairy farmer Cindy Whytock of Neustadt is serving her second term as vice-chair of the herd management services provider, CanWest DHI, after being elected to the position at a regular board meeting following this year’s annual meeting in Toronto.
Whytock was also re-elected as director for a three year-term to represent farmers in Zone 3, made up of Bruce, Grey, Wellington, Dufferin, Simcoe and Haliburton counties along with York and Durham regions and the District Municipality of Muskoka. She is in her seventh year on the board.
Elections were also held for Zone 6, the northern Ontario districts. John Mooney of Massey was acclaimed as director for that area.
Ed Friesen of Kleefeld, Manitoba was re-elected as chair of the board. He is in his seventh year on the board and his fourth as chair.
It has been 10 years since CanWest DHI was formed in 2004 through a partnership of Western Canadian DHI and Ontario DHI. The organization’s services are used by more than 4,100 herds located in five provinces from Ontario to British Columbia. BF
