Government money helps expansion Thursday, April 7, 2011 by BETTER FARMING STAFFExeter Produce and Storage Company Limited is getting $567,000 through Ontario’s Rural Economic Development Program to expand operations and create 40 new jobs.The company plans to relocate its bell pepper processing line and install new, state-of-the-art equipment to expand its production and processing capacity, increasing production of bell field peppers from 3,742 tonnes to 5,000 tonnes annually. The company also plans to enhance the skills of current employees who will be trained on new, sophisticated line equipment. The new facility is expected to be completed by December 2012.
