CFFO on the search for new digs Monday, November 18, 2013 by SUSAN MANN The Christian Farmers Federation of Ontario plans to do a little extra spending next year to look for new digs and celebrate its 60 years as a general farm organization. Delegates to the organization’s annual convention on Nov. 13 approved a 2014 budget in which expenses will exceed revenues by about $20,000. The organization’s revenue is projected to be about $800,000 and comes from its membership, estimated to number 4,100 in 2014. Running a small deficit for 2014 “was a reasonable thing to do” for the one-time expenses instead of cutting other core services says Nathan Stevens, CFFO general manager. During the convention two incumbent directors on the organization’s board were also acclaimed to their positions. Richard Blyleven of Haldimand-Norfolk and Bethanee Jensen of Huron County will each serve another two-year term. President Lorne Small and vice presidents Ted van den Hurk and Clarence Nywening, were previously acclaimed at the provincial council meeting held in October.
