Better Farming editor brings home national writing awards Monday, September 14, 2009 by BETTER FARMING STAFFBetter Farming’s field editor brought home two awards from this year’s Canadian Farm Writers’ and Broadcasters’ awards competition on the weekend.At the Canadian Farm Writers’ Federation’s conference in Edmonton, Mary Baxter received the Jack Cram gold award for monthly press reporting and the Dick Beamish silver award for press feature.The articles recognized were “The new ethanol” (monthly press reporting), which appeared in the June/July 2008 issue of Better Farming and “Women’s changing role on the farm” (press feature), which appeared in the May 2009 issue.Published 10 times a year, Better Farming is Ontario’s largest circulating farm business publication.
