BRINGING MPPs TO AGRICULTURE OFA advocates every day for its 36,000 farm members. Much of our work is directed at government to help them understand agriculture, and the issues, legislation and regulations that impact farm businesses across Ontario. We regularly meet with politicians and policy makers on their turf and ours, to keep agriculture top of mind. Here are some of the ways we’ve been keeping in front of and in touch with MPPs this year. ✓ Annual OFA Field Day — we bring MPPs to a farm business for a talk, tour and firsthand view of Ontario agriculture ✓ At Queen’s Park — briefing breakfasts, fall lobby day and meetings with Ministers ✓ Around the countryside — we invite MPPs to county federation events, summer BBQs and other local activities Agriculture is a significant contributor to Ontario’s economy, but advocacy for our industry has never been more important.
