If farmers had mustard in their grain fields when I was a kid, neighbours made comments. Many children also spent days hand-pulling mustard plants. These weed escapes were not acceptable and the neighbours did not want mustard on their farms. So, why don’t we say something now to farmers who have a lot of weed escapes? Are we bashful or afraid of what they will say? We must make weedy fields socially unacceptable, I think – the way they were when I was a kid. Since that change is not going to suddenly just happen, you must make sure no weed escapes happen in your soybeans. Finally, fleabane seeds do not live in the soil very long. If everyone controlled fleabane, we would not have a problem with this weed. BF OILSEED MARKETS CROP ROTATI IMPROVING AIR QUALITY MARCH 2024 $9.50 PLANNING YOUR GOLDEN YEARS?
