The plots will be monitored for yield, input efficiency, profitability, carbon and soil health. The partners currently include the University of Guelph’s Ontario Crops Research Centre in Emo; they will be providing their time and harvesting equipment to accurately measure yields. The Land Improvement Contractors of Ontario (LICO) and Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association (OSCIA) will support communication, ADS will provide the drainage tile and a funding request for the control gates and monitoring hardware has been submitted to FedNor. Tait Bros. Contracting will be donating their labour doing installation and donating the land. Pinewood Crop Services will be farming the property and proceeds will go to ongoing research costs.
