Michael’s long-term vision for the farm, which started as grass, trees and garbage, is to make it functional for his father and then come back and take over a er working o -farm for a while. He also wants to continue modernizing the farm to make labour more manageable for his father and himself. “I’d like to set it up so that all you have to do is morning and evening chores with a bit of maintenance. I’d like to add some more automation. Not robotics or anything, just more than the old school carrying pails of water. “It would be getting some plumbing in with oats, and thermostats and temperature gauges inside and outside the buildings so you just have to quickly check to know it’s good.” His dream for the farm, in addition to producing food for neighbours and friends, is to eventually beautify the property and host farm tours for education.
