24 Story Idea? Contact Paul.Nolan@Farms.com Better Pork | August 2024 What was your most memorable production year? I had one manager ask me recently what we could be doing better. I stopped her and said, “Can’t we just enjoy what we’re doing now?” I have never seen production numbers like we had last year; it’s fun to be part of it and to ride the train as long as we can. Our herds are healthy, with no PEDv or PRRS reported, and we have worked hard on nutrition and producing good breeding stock. I believe we have the best sows in the industry, as they are great mothers who take care of their litters themselves, so we are just there to support them. We also have amazing staff that I hold accountable to do the work. Everyone needs to make money, but it’s more than that in our operation. At the end of the day, it’s about the satisfaction of a job well done. What are your top goals? On a professional level, I want us to be UP CLOSE Morgen, Jadden, Sheldon, and Candy.
