By Emily McKinlay Brock Tomalty is keeping an open mind and doing the best work he can to grow his farm and provide custom work services. Brock, his wife Stephanie, and his father John started farming together near Red Deer, Alta. as B-Rock Farming in 2020. As they wrap up their fifth season of farming together, Brock says this is something he has always had a passion for. “My dad has farmed his whole life. He took over from my grandpa,” says Brock. “I’ve always had a passion for farming as I was growing up. I spent a lot of time riding along with my dad. I would always come home from school and couldn’t wait to get out to the farm and ride along with him. I’ve never thought of doing anything else. I’ve worked for some other farms, off our farm, but I’ve always had this drive to come back and do it for myself.” Brock and Stephanie Tomalty farm together in Red Deer, Alta. Jordan Tomalty photo
