What a great teacher. As a city kid turned farmer, I learned everything about pork production from Gord. The systems approach he instilled in his students, forced us to think of how to manage production and business, rather than being just a producer. And when the classroom didnt offer enough time, his door was always open to further the discussion. Sadly missed.
Phil Anwender.

To me and many other students he taught, he was just as much a Mentor as
the most Respected Canadian Swine Industry Professor during his years at UG.
HIs Vision for the development and Implementation of the Canadian Hog Grading System in the Basement of his house coupled with his vision and insight into the Development of his Student's identity and purpose will never
be forgotten. I will always remember his Mentoring "Your only security in life
is your ability to Change and Adapt" "The application of your Knowledge is more
important than what you know" The right man, in the right place, at the right
time! Terry Young Msc. 1979 -Graduate Student
