Government invests in northern agriculture

Other parts of the province also have heavy clay soils that require a lot more tile grants, yet the OFA, perhaps, simply forgot to mention that fact.

Just my opinion and not that of any farm group I may or may not be associated with.

An anonymous figure can belong to a farm group?

Can't wait to see the photo of that farm group, will this fictional character be in it?

Of course not, lol

"We can always count on agriculture" Kidd, a former dairy farmer says.

Cute statement, and fatuous also.
Yes, of course we can, as long as we have various forms of government help that is.

It seems odd that they are clearing land and adding drainage in the north while here in the south they are spending money to
1 ) plant trees
2 ) put in wetlands
In many counties here in the south you are not allowed to clear land .
This is happening in Ontario or did the north part seperate ?

Glad to hear the Government is supporting clearing land up there, WHILE, at the same time supporting the rape of Farmland in the rest of OUR Province by Solar and Wind Companies. Solar is offering up to 7000 per acre for 20 year leases on good farmland in parts of Eastern and Central Ontario. Where is the SENSE in what the Liberals are doing here, I just don t get it.

Kawartha lakes farmer has cleared low lying forested wet land then attempts to burn cut trees, trunks, soil gets on fire.
After many days of smudge and putrid aroma which burns nostrils of neighbours and is such a nuisance.
Why the government is allowing grants to clear agricultural land boggles the mind. Then on the other hand the same government pays to do the opposite - protect the environment? What may I have missed here?
Trees could have been providing heat, swamp area should have been protected. Who inspected this property to
Give clearance for the work to proceed.
