I do understand the enthusiasm with the announcement but it does leave us here in SW Ontario a little bewildered as to why there and not here ? It is all the same province so the same rules should apply .
Here we are not allowed to drain wetlands and for the most part not allowed to clear any trees . Seems like a double standard .
I will say that tile drainage is likely the single best thing a farmer can do as far as an improvement to his land .
GreenBelt is a joke at best .

Is there any chance our liberal gov is trying to push agriculture to the north to make the south a big park for the city folk?

Don't you know that the greenbelt and especially the "sacred moraine" are areas saved for windmills?
